Metal meets plastic – AM-event at Fuchshofer impresses industry experts
The specialist event “Metal meets Plastic” recently took place at the headquarters of Fuchshofer Präzisionstechnik GmbH in Eibiswald — a high-profile industry gathering focused on additive manufacturing.

During the event, Managing Director Hannes Fuchshofer provided an exciting insight into the company’s development: From its beginnings in 1994 as a small CNC machining operation in a garage, Fuchshofer Präzisionstechnik GmbH has developed into an innovative specialist in the field of 3D metal printing and additive manufacturing.

The specialist presentation by DI Dr. mont. Gerhard Panzl, a proven expert in the field of 3D metal printing, offered particular added value. Drawing on his in-depth expertise, he highlighted the wide range of possibilities offered by additive manufacturing — from the selection of suitable materials to optimal application in industrial practice.

Daniel Plos from Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence GmbH demonstrates the possibilities of simulation and data preparation for printing jobs.

In addition to metal powder and prototype manufacturers, Mr. Grünwald from voxel4U GmbH gave us an insight into plastic 3D printing.

Ernst Bair – HAGI GmbH also took the opportunity to learn about 3D metal printing. He discussed possible areas of application in his field of activity with the clear aim of promoting the potential of additive manufacturing in practice.

Another highlight of the event was the technical presentation by DI Johann Hagenauer on the topic of “3D cloud production of metal.” In his presentation, he compared 3D metal printing and 3D sand printing in foundries, clearly illustrating the differences, advantages, and areas of application of both processes.
Particular interest was shown in the E-Plus-3D Tech GmbH systems successfully used at Fuchshofer, which were presented during the lecture — a tangible example of the efficient implementation of modern AM solutions in a manufacturing company.

A tour of the Fuchshofer Präzisionstechnik GmbH facility provided exciting insights into the practical implementation of additive manufacturing. Particularly impressive was the exhibition of numerous 3D-printed metal components, which could be examined and discussed directly on site.

As a small token of appreciation for his compelling presentation, Mr. Hannes Fuchshofer presented Mr. Hagenauer with a fine bottle of regional wine — a symbolic gesture of recognition and a stylish conclusion to a successful lecture.
The event offered exciting specialist presentations and, above all, ample opportunity for personal networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors from industry, research, and business were able to learn about new technologies and discuss concrete practical solutions.
Thank you to all participants, especially to Fuchshofer Präzisionstechnik GmbH – we are already looking forward to the next edition!
